Sound Transit Expansion Plan: Q & A
Tuesday, Sept. 9, 5:30PM
McLeod Residence at (2209 2nd Ave, Belltown)
Have questions on the Sound Transit expansion plan that will be on your November ballot? So do we. That's why we've put together a question and answer session with Sound Transit's Executive Director of Policy, Planning and Public Administration, Ric Ilgenfritz.
Please join Friends of Seattle for an in-depth look at this proposed investment in our bus and rail system. We promise - this is not a lecture. We're going to cut Ric off after 15 minutes and let you ask the questions.
$10 suggested donation includes a drink.
Questions? Contact Anna Boone. We hope to see you there!

All of us want to know more about The Future of Transportation in Seattle, so we held a panel discussion on the topic. We packed the back room of the Spitfire on Thursday, Mar. 20, 2008 to hear from Mayor Greg Nickels, Sound Transit Board Chair, and four panelists. Watch a video of the event here (Video Credit: Dan Shaw @ DanShaw.com). Complete coverage of the event from blogs and KUOW is on our Media page.
A great crowd joined us on Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007 to mingle and meet our endorsed candidates for City Council. County Councilmember Larry Phillips also joined us to talk about the roads and transit package. The happy hour drinks were excellent, and the appetizers tasty. Many thanks to the Karma Martini Lounge for having us.
We co-presented a successful and informative forum on August 2, 2007 with the candidates running for Seattle City Council. Voters came to ask questions and learn about the candidates' views on transportation, housing, jobs, and other issues.
Approximately 50 new members signed up at our event on May 9, 2007, where four candidates for city council and Councilmember Tom Rasmussen joined us to meet our members. Our partners at the Seattle Great City Initiative, Dearborn Street Coalition for a Livable Neighborhood (PDF), and the City Council spoke about complete streets, green infrastructure, the Goodwill redevelopment on Rainier Ave, and the Urban Mobility Plan to replace the Viaduct. Thank you to all who came. A blog post about the event can be found here.
